Wildfire Safety and Inspection

Further, in situations like widespread disasters, the fire department might not be able to respond to your emergency because of much greater emergencies in other parts of the city. Therefore, you need to be ready to survive on your own for at least 72 hours. Wildfire Evacuation Planning

The most important thing you can do during wildfire season is to plan ahead, stay informed about ongoing wildfire activity in or near your area, and be prepared to leave at a moment’s notice.

Stay informed about wildfire risks and follow any evacuation orders or other instructions from authorities
Know where you will go, how you will get there, and where you will stay with different escape routes
Open your gate (if applicable) and back your car into the driveway (if it is an electric vehicle, ensure a full charge in case of power interruption).
Load vehicle with pre-planned personal items/effects
Prepare animal accommodations, including crate, food, medications, etc.
Ensure personal medical kit is in the vehicle and the vehicle is stocked with medications, clothes, and a 72-hour food and water supply
Ensure critical papers and items are stored in a fireproof safe if not transporting. Notify the fire department if you have evacuated
